Mission Statement

Rana’s School of Ballet is established to provide ballet training to students based in Greater Belfast area to provide quality ballet training to students where this was not available before. Classes are open to all as long as they are the required age and they are able to attend the classes regularly. Individual attention is given to every student to help them achieve their best potential. Rana O’Brien is a registered teacher of Royal Academy of Dance. She attends seminars, courses provided for RAD registered teachers and stays up to date with the syllabi of RAD. This means, if students are attending regularly and if they have shown satisfactory progress in their training and if they are the required age for a level, then they can be entered into RAD examinations and Solo Awards.

Examiners are appointed by RAD HQ in London and they may be traveling from anywhere in the world to Northern Ireland to mark examinations.

Examiners are selected and trained by RAD and their marking system and certificates provided by RAD are accredited by AQA (Assessment and Qualification Alliance in England, Wales and Northern Ireland); they are also recognized worldwide.

If students continue ballet training to Grades 6,7,8, and/or Intermediate, Advanced Foundation, their exam marks count towards UCAS points.
